DHANUSH RENUKAPPA / PRODUCTION & DIGITALIZATION ENGINEER

ALL IN.
BEYOND
THE CIRCUIT.

I’m Dhanush Renukappa. An electrical engineer with a practical mind and a competitive spirit—connecting technology, people and better ways of working.

Electrical foundations. Practical thinking. Still building.

Built by me. Built for me.

01 / ABOUT ME

Electrical roots.
Production thinking.

My foundation is Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with hands-on experience in batteries, BMS and electric vehicle systems.

Problem solving. Analytical thinking. Business sense. I look for practical ways to make work easier and systems better.

02 / WORK EXPERIENCE

Engineering in practice.

Production & Digitalization Engineer

ToyotaToyota Kirloskar Motor
Digital Transformation (MTT) · Production Engineering
Bengaluru · June 2024–present

I study production processes, identify improvement opportunities, and develop automation and digital solutions through practical trials, safety reviews and cross-functional teamwork.

My approach Understand → Test → Review → Improve Iterative development; each initiative is at its own stage.

01 / PRODUCTION

Production & Automation

Understanding the process and developing practical improvements.

Explore my contribution

I study end-to-end operations: parts movement, lifting and carrying, and how people interact with the process. Operational needs guide the automation concept.

I consider production flow, lean production, standardization, safety and feasibility alongside business merit and return on investment. These guide evaluation; they are not claimed financial results.

I develop ideas through proofs of concept and production pilots, supported by check sheets, documentation and coordination with production, maintenance, IT and vendors.

02 / MOVEMENT

AMR & Logistics

Practical concepts and trials for internal parts movement.

Explore my contribution

I contribute to autonomous mobile robot (AMR) initiatives across Plants 1, 2 and 3, and planning for an upcoming plant. My work includes concepts, proofs of concept and production pilots before broader deployment.

Project stages: Planning, proofs of concept, pilots and deployment are distinct; not every initiative is fully deployed.

03 / SAFETY

Robotics Safety

Failure analysis, FMEA and staged project reviews.

Explore reviews and validation

I am learning and applying Toyota’s approach to safety reviews, documentation and project approvals. I work within staged reviews covering:

  • Basic specifications, concept development and design adaptation to production requirements.
  • Reviews and sign-offs, power-connection requirements and safety analysis.
  • Endurance trials, check sheets and supporting documentation.

I contribute to this review process; I do not independently certify equipment or hold final safety approval authority.

04 / DIGITAL

Digital Production

Exploring process visibility and simpler digital workflows.

Explore the two workstreams

Vision feasibility

I study the process, explore suitable camera arrangements and assess their practical use for maintaining process standards and improving visibility. This is exploratory and feasibility work, rather than a fully deployed AI vision system.

Digital ways of working

I support digitalization of quality checks, logistics flows, operational check sheets, daily meetings and information displays. The aim is to reduce reliance on paper, make information easier to access and support a digital working culture.

I also provided support on a basic RFID project.

Practical tools & continuing learning

PRACTICAL TOOLS

Small tools. Useful support.

I use AI to assist with documentation, Excel sheets and project trackers. I have also explored project alerts, automated emails and basic workflows with Microsoft Power Automate / Flow—developing practical workflow-automation experience alongside my engineering work.

FOUNDATION & DEVELOPMENT

Building on what I know.

My strongest foundation: electrical and electronics engineering, lithium-ion cells and battery packs, battery management systems, electronic chips and communication protocols, and electric vehicle systems.

My foundational learning areas: PLC connectivity, vision integration concepts, IT/OT networking, industrial cybersecurity concepts and the Purdue network model.

03 / MY STORY, IN MOTION

Every journey
has a beginning.

Follow the road. Each cartoon marks a chapter; the photographs hold the memories.

Imagined cartoon: Where our story begins.

2000 / MUM & DAD

Where our story begins.

My parents married in 2000. Dad worked at Mico Bosch in Bengaluru. Their journey made mine possible.

Imagined cartoon: Hello, world. Hello, Bengaluru.

2002 / BORN & ON THE MOVE

Hello, world. Hello, Bengaluru.

Born in 2002, I moved from Chikkamagaluru to Bengaluru that same year. A small beginning, a whole city ahead.

Imagined cartoon: The day I started moving.

CHILDHOOD / MY FIRST WHEELS

The day I started moving.

A blue tricycle, a curious little me, and the first taste of going my own way.

Imagined cartoon: Find your feet. Find your voice.

SCHOOL / SHRI AYYAPPA EDUCATION CENTER

Find your feet. Find your voice.

Athletics, anchoring, and growing confidence. School gave me discipline, a competitive spirit, and confidence on stage.

Imagined cartoon: Step up. Speak out.

PRE-UNIVERSITY / ST. CLARET PU COLLEGE

Step up. Speak out.

Literature Club Secretary, volleyball, and competitions with friends. Electrical experiments sparked my next direction.

Imagined cartoon: A voice on television.

AFTER PU / A DIFFERENT STAGE

A voice on television.

I joined a cricket discussion on television—another chance to listen, think, and put my point across.

Imagined cartoon: Follow the electrical spark.

ENGINEERING / SIR MVIT

Follow the electrical spark.

Electrical & Electronics Engineering through KCET. Alongside classes: dance, Debsoc, parliamentary debates, and college culturals.

Imagined cartoon: Build it. Wire it. Race it.

WORKSHOP YEARS / INFERNO + ELECTRIMO

Build it. Wire it. Race it.

Efficient electric vehicles and an e-kart. From batteries and wiring to fabrication and team management, the workshop made theory real.

Imagined cartoon: Ready for the next challenge.

2024 / GRADUATION

Ready for the next challenge.

Graduated in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Sir MVIT, with an internship and a battery-monitoring project behind me.

Imagined cartoon: An offer. A new starting line.

JUNE 2024 / TOYOTA KIRLOSKAR MOTOR

An offer. A new starting line.

Joined as a Graduate Engineering Trainee after my May interview. My next chapter: manufacturing digital transformation.

Imagined cartoon: Strength through consistency.

AFTER JOINING TOYOTA / BEFORE 2025

Strength through consistency.

I joined the gym before my Engineer milestone. Another place to show up, push myself, and keep improving.

Imagined cartoon: Make the systems move.

2025 / ENGINEER

Make the systems move.

Became an Engineer, working on logistics automation, mobile robots, vision-based monitoring, and digitalization roadmaps.

Imagined cartoon: Different roads. Same energy.

WHEELS TO WILDERNESS / TRIP CAPTAIN

Different roads. Same energy.

As a guide and trip captain, I brought people together and collected memories beyond the factory floor.

Imagined cartoon: Explain it. Bring everyone along.

AT WORK / BUILDING THE TEAM

Explain it. Bring everyone along.

Inside the factory, I explain robot projects and train groups of around 10–15 coworkers. Engineering moves forward when the team understands it together.

THE ROAD CONTINUES. STILL BUILDING. ↗
